Getting help with Chicago Manual of Style

You can always ask for help from the Library with appropriately citing sources. Our staff has access to the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition. You can ask in-person, over the phone (304.788.6901), by email (send to ngardner@mail.wvu.edu or virginia.stephens@mail.wvu.edu), or message us on Facebook Messenger (@PotomacStateLibrary).

Purdue OWL

Purdue OWL (Online Writing Lab) has put together an easy to use guide on Chicago Manual of Style including how to format your paper, how to cite your sources, and how to format your bibliography.

Zotero Bib

ZoteroBib is a free tool for automatically generating citations in many different citation styles (including APA, MLA, Chicago, CSE, and many more). While ZoteroBib's interpreter for creating automatically generated citations is more accurate than other tools (such as EasyBib), always check your citations against the CMOS guide in Purdue Owl or the actual Chicago Manual of Style to ensure their accuracy.
